After a few delays on many parts--and feet dragging on our part--our updated home study is complete and our new USCIS forms are on their way to the proper authorities. From reading various blogs it seems many don't do this step until the dossier is on it's way to country. Since we are coming at this a little differently I guess this is the way we are working it out. So I600A is in the mail and now it's time to get crackin' on all the other forms for the dossier!
Still working towards a goal of submitting around September/October'ish.

Control.
Since moving into our house here in the "suburbs of Atlanta" we seem to have had one issue after another crop up. I write this as a bug man just left...now this guy was just here for mosquito control because er ma ga. The mosquitos are horrific. Stand outside for 10 minutes and you feel as if you suddenly became a piece of meat--because you did. Now I know the mild winter made it a million times worse but fo real it was bad last year and the year before that. This year? Awful.
Bug man was a nice guy...gave a totally reasonable quote for treating our yard and also mentioned that it may not help a ton because of all the out of control vegetation we have going on in the back yard. *cough*Robert*cough* We then got to talking about termites and the sealing of the stucco that needs to happen before the termite bond can be placed. 'cept that all together will cost a bit more than just a few hundred. Then we started in about the *ahem* rodent problem we had that we spent a hefty chunk on change on last year...and maybe we really should renew that service. This junk is redonk. And can quickly get out of control. Anyone want to come chop trees and weeds? No? Well shucks.
I also just got done letting the boys know we need to um maybe limit the amount of gaming that is going on these days. A little game control perhaps? Yes? Yes. Maybe summer days wasting away in front of a screen aren't really what I imagined. Yet this week I am sick and letting it happen. But last week? Well I just let it happen. But next week. NEXT Week. It's over my friends. My boys. Well they won't be happy. Gosh I am such a party pooper...sorry boys. Here's the run down I think. No games on Tues/Thurs at least. And no more than 2 hours the other days. Today? I think we are onto hour 3 of game play and yesterday I think we hit 12. I kid. I kidd. It's amazing how fast the hours go by and then you look up and realize um yeah they have been laying there twiddling their thumbs on that little controler thingy for...holy crap...FIVE hours. What the what? Turn that off right now! I am a horrible parent. Turn it off. Turn it off. Go play! How does that happen!? Oh that's right you weren't bothering me and were relatively quite so rather than mess up a "good thing" I just ignored it...and maybe you. Either way I am pretty much anti TV and video games are totally not my thing. For no real reason other than about 97 REAL reason. Oops.
And can I just say I just went to proofread (haha I know funny) and realized I type sense instead of since and right instead of write and because instead became. What's real funny about that is that I can't stand reading people misuse words like that. Like I seen. Um no. You saw. Yet I totally do it...but I swear it's by mistake and fast typing and my brain being a little off because I am sneezing and the baby is sneezing and not sleeping and I am trying to be fast because he isn't going to let me sit here much longer. Yet I just proof-read THIS paragraph and found like 4 mistakes. Really. Goodness. And oh yeah the boys need to turn off that blasted video game...

It's S-not.
As previously mentioned Nolan and I have colds. This is pretty much the worst week to get a cold ever...but it is what it is and we are riding it out. If I had a fever I would wonder if it was the flu...because body achy? Yes. I have that. Snot? Yes that too. Like I said good times.
Mr. 7 month old is pretty much crawling...but not really. Crawling in that he can crawl and has crawled to get what he wants...but not really in that he pretty much knows he doesn't have to because just a little whining gets him what he wants too. He's a smart guy.
This morning I was chilling on the couch watching some TV and Mr. Smart guy was sporting a snot-stache and I announced "Oh Snot!" followed up by "it's like Oh Snap! but it's s-not!" Hahahaha. Jakeb looked at me unamused and told me my jokes are as lame as Daddy's. I said it all again and told him I was pretty sure Robert would love the play on words there and he then told me it was worse than Daddy's. I would be insulted but I was too busy laughing at my own cleverness. That and he's 10 he isn't a very good critic. I am totally more funny. Hands down.
I am forcing them to play outside today and reminding them 93 times I don't feel go so please for the love of god be helpful and stop spraying water into the garage and wetting your clothes and then changing them. Rinse. Repeat. And also. Your.are.NOT.hungry.go.play! Oh wait. Maybe you are hungry here eat some lunch (and don't tell that we just ate Ravioli from a can--the horror! What? It says it has vegetables {even I am rolling my eyes at that one}) now go play!
I told the boys this morning I didn't feel well and Zachary without pausing to ponder my statement followed my statement by asking if we could go to the pool. **head smack** I think I smacked my head and not his but at this rate it might have been both.
Anyway so enough about my whining. How's your day? It's really pretty nice and sunny here but not too hot. Did you know we moved to HOT-lanta and it's been cooler here than our previous more northern residence?
Also did you know that apparently making 3 little boys play outside on a nice day is liken to torture? Apparently here it is. Even if they have bikes and scooters and water toys and a playground and a trampoline and a creek and woods and are you kidding me really?!? I also just looked up to see the dog wandering the street. Thank you Gavin for taking off her collar. Ok...Nolan is getting very angry that I won't let him play with the computer mouse. I think I am going to retreat to the couch.

Tuesday Twelve.
1. Today is a ho hum not doing much of anything day.
2. Nolan and I apparently have summer colds. Good times and lots of snot....
3. Gavin got a slip n' slide for his birthday...I just had to force the boys to play on it. Seriously. They were all like yeah let's set it up...then all like. "it's too cold." "it's too bumpy." "I can't do it" Got to be kidding me.
4. And also I have to force them to go play outside. Where they wander around the yard kicking rocks. Again. Got to be kidding me.
5. I finally ordered the caterpillars and ants for the boys little habitat's they got for...Um Christmas.
6. It's too hot for the ants to be shipped to us so we have to wait on those. Oops.
7. Jakeb owes us money from his allowance because he "had to have" a necklace. I personally think it's great that he owes us money. He would like to not owe us money so he is working it off. Today he asked what he could do and I told him he could Mop and clean the hall bathroom for $5. (there was a lot to mop) I think he can borrow money any time he wants. Cheap labor.
8. They also got $3 a bucket for picking up rocks in the backyard. They managed to get thru 3 buckets before they called it quits. Again Win. Win. We get rocks picked up. They get moola and discover why we tell them to stop throwing rocks in the yard.
9. Nolan is not a happy camper today. I think it might be a TV and couch kind of afternoon.
10. Last night we hit up the grocery store--we=me and all 4 boysies. They were good and I was good so it was a pleasant trip. However I got talked into all sorts of junk. Cereal I don't typically buy and snacks that are mostly sugar. We did escape without toys and clothes though so that's good.
11. Um, also. Nolan is so close to crawling all over it's not even funny. He actually crawled like 3 or 4 "crawl steps" last night. So very cool.
12. Word on the street is our homestudy update is all done and just waiting for us to send in the I600A paperwork and check. Good dealio! It will be on it's way at the end of this week. Baby steps we are working on but that's a pretty big one :) I told Robert the other day if bringing Nolan was an option we would be done with this paperwork already...and it is but not without a lot of extra money and headache.

Cherish.
One of my fears when I found out I was pregnant with Nolan was rushing thru his first year just to get to the end of our wait before we can start things up again with the adoption. What's funny is no matter what the first year just rushes by but I knew that as he got older I would wonder if I had wished away his first year or even first 2 years. I know myself and no matter how much I enjoyed or cherished this first year I would look back and wonder if it was enough...if *I* was enough. Every month I take his pictures and every time after the picture taking I toss the sticker up on our big picture window in the sunroom. So right now all 8 stickers (7 months and one 0) are lined up along the window and every time I have stuck one up there a conflicting emotion rushes around. One of sadness that he is already a month older and it seems he was just born and another of happiness that we are getting close to him be older. And that of course makes me feel guilty. I was talking to Robert the other day and reminded him of me worrying about just this. I even sat down and thought back to the past 7 months and felt that maybe I wasn't enough....too much worrying about the future. But then I slept and I woke up yesterday and thought I needed to sit here and write this...that first of all I am too hard on myself. Secondly the emotions I am feeling about him (them) getting older I would feel whether there was an adoption happening on the horizon or not. With all 3 of the big boys I felt this exact same way...sad they were older and happy they were older at the same time.
And also I thought back again to the past 7 months and I don't think we could have possibly held or cherished this baby any more than we have. He has probably been the most held and snuggled baby we have had. In fact it's very likely his issue with napping stems from being held while he slept as an newborn. I have more pictures of his sweet face--I have marked the passing of each month with pictures dedicated to just that. He still snuggles half the night away next to me in the bed. Sometimes I toss him in a carrier strapped to my chest just because I want to have him close and not because he's fussy or unhappy. Up until recently I actually would get him out of his bed and put him in ours because I wanted him with me. In the past 7 months he hasn't been away from me for more than 3 hours (if that). So instead of worrying if I wished away his first year I am writing this post to remind myself that I haven't. Sure there are days of frustrations and anguish but that would be whether he was my 1st or my 7th or my only.
While we are very anxious to get to a finishing point with all things adoption we are also enjoying every possible second with this little baby boy. That I need to remember all the things we did do instead of all the things we didn't. And really that goes for all the boys.
A reminder that we certainly do cherish them enough. We love them enough. And on the days when I wonder if it's enough I hope I remember this post to myself. While it is like I am wishing away time, I am certainly NOT not cherishing every second of time we have while we have it. And I know that when we do finally get to bring home our newest addition I will probably again have the rush of conflicting emotions as time passes.

Tuesday 12
1. Fathers day is this weekend and we really need to get on the ball with that.
2. We are slowly getting back on track with eating dinner at home. Finally. {slackers}
3. Nolan is doing surpringly well at the pool....even taking naps while we hang out. He is seriously a easy baby despite his rebellion to sleep.
4. And also he officially pulled himself up to standing today in his crib. The crib that had to be lowered yesterday. However I wasnt ready for it to be lowered to the last spot yet so it just went down one. Silly since we will be doing it again in a month but hanging onto this baby-ness as long as possible. I am already really missing that snuggly newborn in his little blue fleece elephant sleeper. I forgot how fast it goes. Also he keeps flopping himself over on his belly to sleep at night and he looks so sweet.
5. Excuse any typos I am working this out on my iPad.
6. Jakeb and Gavin made a fort on the bunk beds and are sleeping in it tonight....Zachary and I made one in between he and Gavin's beds and he is sleeping in it with Robert. He's a awesome daddy.
7. Um and can I mention I have officially lost all pregnancy weight plus a tiny bit more. Only a couple dozen lbs to go.....and go they will.
8. I would also like to mention I haven't had a carbonated beverage in a week. No soda and no brewskis. Baby steps folks. It could be longer I didn't pay attention to a "last day". Just decided I am good and don't need them...and maybe that's better than saying "on x day I will quit sodas..."
9. Jakeb and I huffed out 3 miles at the greenway the other day. I ran better than I thought but was surprised to be sore the next day. I blame the new shoes.
10. Nolan just laughed in his sleep. Awesome.
11. I busted out the harsh chemicals to tackle a blasted toilet/shower mold issue that will not go away despite my being on top of the cleaning. Gavin asked why it smells like a swimming pool in here...I haven't bought anything like this in almost years but I had had enough! We will see if it fixes it...and needless to say my bedroom and bathrooms windows are open.
12. I have been looking up CSA's but am not sure we will eat all the veggies...we should but we aren't to that point yet. And I drove past a church the other day that looked interesting...so Robert {and Zachary} checked it out on Sunday. I think we will all try it out soon...he thought it was good. Anyone that knows me knows this is a big deal...we will see. We waffle back and forth about the church thing...and have never really gone.

The 7th Month.
Despite the lack of sleep the guy receives he is one of the happiest babies around. Flashing his gummy still toothless grin. During his 6th month he has decided he is pretty much against all baby food and while he seems to enjoy table foods he hasn't mastered swallowing much without gagging. He has also led us to believe he is on the brink of crawling for the entire month. The second you sit him down on his play mat he instantly reaches forward and props himself up on one leg with his other tucked under his little tooshie as if he's going to crawl away, though he plops himself down on his tummy and spins circles around grabbing various things. He is still a busy B and is in near constant motion grabbing and pulling and smacking and talking. He still loves to pull hair and squeeze cheeks and noses. He isn't an especially gentle boy. Despite his busy body self he will just sit and relax in our laps many times a day. He is a fabulous snuggler and loves to just sit in my lap playing with toys.
His personality is starting to show and I think he is going to be full of life and happy and fun. I have a feeling he is going to be similar to Zachary and just a fun loving happy go lucky boy. While he is quite the happy guy, during this month he has discovered he has an opinion and that he can voice it. He cries if something he really wants is taken from him or kicks his feet when he gets angry. His temper is emerging right along with the rest of that happy personality! He finds Zachary to be fabulously funny and giggles at him the easiest. While he giggles with Zachary, he calms with Jakeb. He loves all of his big brothers and gets so very excited when they come in the room. Gavin isn't quite sure what to say to him yet and just repeats "Hey Buddy, Hey Nolan" over and over. Hehe.
And the hair? Yeah it's in his eyes and most people call him a girl...but I am hoping we can hold out cutting it a bit longer!
Nolan is still unsure of new people but is getting better about going to Robert and other people even if I am in the room. He is a popular guy with all the kids that come around and seems to be a hit with the ladies. He is teetering right on the edge of being able to completely pull himself to standing. He has pulled himself to his knees many times and has pulled himself to a diagonally standing position but hasn't quite gotten himself completely upright standing on his own just yet, but is oh so very close.
Today at 7 months 4 days he got himself to a sitting position from laying down. I really should put that for 8 months--I really don't think he even realized he did it. Tomorrow the crib mattress is getting lowered since he officially can sit up and therefore pull himself up all on his own. So happy 7 months to our happy baby lovey!
I apparently took A LOT of pictures for this month...can't decide a favorite so I am adding a bunch. Enjoy!
(picture feet kicking going on here...because it was!)
He was DONE-ZO!
His 7 month pictures were taken right before bed time and he was quickly not a fan...his expressions are great. And he spent most of the time looking out the back door at the dogs behind him. And also he tried to "crawl" off the ottoman this time in fact he did dive right over the side, I caught him but barely!...and Robert stood him in front of it and he stood there for a good bit leaning against it. Pretty impressive we think.

Check Point
We are nearly to the halfway point of the year--I am assuming it's roughly around mid June. I really want to go on and on about how insanely crazy that is but I won't. Though maybe I just did a tiny bit.
When this year started a mere 6 months ago I named it "the year of reform." We have a great many areas we need to grow up a bit in...though truth be told I am extra hard on myself--us but still change is almost always a good thing. The largest areas of which all consist of general discipline. Discipline to not eat junky food. Discipline to not spend money on stuff we flat out don't need. Discipline to be better with discipline in regards to our mouthy children. Just over all discipline. Now when I started out the year announcing our revised plans I am sure Robert rolled his eyes and thought "FANTASTIC Just what I want." I am hoping he is on board at least a bit....no really I know he is...just maybe not the same way I am. And really *I* am not the same way I am. As in my brain and heart are all "Yay! Rah! Rah! Ree! We got this!! Wahoo!!" my actions are um not. But whatever...baby steps towards our goal. And friends we are stepping...eensy weensy teensy baby steps... The house cleaning and housewifery is happening a bit better. The cookery is not but we talk about it! The moola spending is waxing and waning towards good job to HORRIBLE job. So all in all some days I think "We got this!" and some days not so much.
At the end of the day it's hard when the only person accountable for your actions is yourself....no one is going to come in and fuss at me or us for spending the $15 at the store or $10 getting fast food. I will say my starbucks days have ceased. It's been months since we dropped money at Starbucks. So that's progress. And progress is progress.

Hi Ho there.
It's Thursday of Week 2 of summer and thus far we are still getting the swing of things and I imagine we will get it all down pat you know July 31 the day before they start back to school.
The big boys are currently watching a movie and Nolan is chit chatting away in his exersaucer beside me. We just gave sweet potatoes and banana a try again and like the other 32 times we have tried he says "No Thank You" with his face. I am positive it's a big fat hell no as he clamps his mouth tight shut and swings his head from side to side to dodge the spoon that is coming towards his mouth. Yes the boy is positive he doesn't like food. He also doesn't like sleeping as we all well know by now. Not that I have complained or anything. And also? Tomorrow he will be 7 whole months old and I still haven't taken those blasted 6 month pictures I wanted to take. I took some but not THE picture I was going for.
We are waiting on our doctor forms to scan in so I can send them over to our agency for our file update. And then heading to the store to replace a pair of broken goggles again. Swim Goggles- the bain of my summer swimming (that and sunscreen that they need but is surely not that great either).
The boys just got done spending a few days with friends and today is our down day. With 4 kids I need some "down time" with no extra kids running around and none of mine running around else where either. That and as I get older my tolerance for extras tends to get lower. Extras of course being those of which do not share our last name. Now don't get me wrong I loved that the boys friends were here staying here {especially our TN friends we never see}...but here's the thing. We have 3 boys that are old enough to do the friend thing. Either friends here or they there. It never fails someone is left out. Which leaves me with a whining child or two. Upset because they either can't get to go to a friends house, are the only one home, or are left out of the playing that is occurring with said friend(S) so some times. Lots of times. I am done with that. I mean there is only so much moping and pouty face I can handle in a week {day}. I will say days of having all 3 boys paired with a friend are much easier...go figure more kids makes it easier.
Which brings me back to now. Nolan no longer thinks the exersaucer is fun. Probably because it's 1pm and he's been up since 8 with only a 15 min {Maybe} nap. Off to remedy that!
Have a great day!

Tuesday Twelve
1. You like all those picture posts? Yeah thought ahead and scheduled a handful...smarty pants I am.
2. We head north this weekend to TN for a wedding. It was a nice quick trip...we came back one less child but 2 more.
3. Zman stayed in TN to spend a few days with his very best friend and Jakeb and Gavin's bff's came to GA with us to spend a few days with us. We will do a swap around tomorrow.
4. The sunrises much too soon in TN and we think it's bonkers. Seriously it's bright and sunny way too early there.
5. I hesitate to say this for fear I will jinx it but mingled in with Nolan's 15 min naps he has had a handful of naps that lasted nearly an hour and a half.
6. Our high today was like 70 which is crazy. 90 in March and barely over 60 in June. Whacked weather.
7. My plan was to start on the adoption paperwork this week....didn't plan on the extra bodies being here so I will get into gear with it next week. I thought dragging my feet would be harder now I am having a harder time jumping back into gear with all the blasted paperwork.
8. I tossed some grass seed out in the back yard and am very happy to see it growing...hopefully it will stay!
9. Gavin has been all about smoothies lately. So we are trying a fruit loaded/spinach loaded smoothie a day. After all the illness he had last year I am bound and determined to make 1st grade a healthier school year....so this is a start! (For the record Gavin doesn't eat any fruit but has decided he does in fact like them in smoothies. Score.) (also for the record spinach is 100% not tastable in a smoothie)
10. Also while I know there are much better smoothie making products THIS has been perfect for us.
11. Nolan refuses to eat nearly all solids. I find this very frustrating...especially as I was all eager to make his baby food--so I have and he won't eat it. Boo.
12. We are going camping at the beach for 3 days soon...I am praying this wasn't a terrible idea. I think it will be ok...everyone else looks at us like we are crazy. We shall see!

A Cutie Patootie in a Chair.
Nolan is going on 7 months in like a week...and all month I have been saying I need to get some pictures of the boy. Big boy outside pictures....I finally took him out a week or so ago and attempted some on my own. First off no easy task with a busy B boy like he is and secondly well I need extra hands and distractions....but he's cute. Like really cute.
(tossed in a few out takes...trust me I have dozens more. He spent 90% of the time looking else where eating the chair or the grass and generally being a 6 month old)
