30 days of Thanks. Day THIRTY.

Part of me wants to write that I am thankful this is my last "thankful post"...not that I don't have plenty to write about but I have a hard time deciding what I want to be thankful for...friends, family, our home, our pets...just life in general all of it I am thankful for.  I am also thankful for perseverance, honesty, love, patience, intelligence, friendships, and so much more.  It's hard narrowing down which specific I want to talk about.
Today I want to be thankful for adoption but until we are to the "finish line" it's hard to see past that-- personally.  However when I think about other families I am certainly thankful!
I am thankful for washing machines and dishwashers because hello obvious.
I also could be thankful for leaf blowers...because again obvious...but for those who haven't been to our house...we have A LOT of trees that produce A LOT of leaves and heavy duty leaf blowers are the bomb.  No joke.
I am thankful for my dad who despite our tumultuous relationship happily drove his 2 mega leaf blowers over for us to borrow.   I know I could pick up the phone in a crisis and he would do his best to help...we don't always see eye to eye and don't talk as often as we used to but he is still my dad and I know he is there.  And for that I really am thankful.
So to wrap up the month I will say I am just thankful.  End of story end of the month...THANKFUL.

30 days of Thanks. Day TWENTY-EIGHT.

My Jakey boy. Today is about him. He is my buddy, my oldest, the one who made me a mother...and an awesome kid. He is thoughtful and considerate. He is the best big brother and takes his role quite seriously...he is serious and a day dreamer. He loves coming up with new games and stories in his head. He is smart and amazingly creative...very helpful and playful!
And have you seen the kids hair...I am jealous of it.  He is polite and respectful (usually) and easy to talk to....Jakeb is trustworthy and honest and caring and an all around awesome dude.   Today and everyday we are thankful for him.

30 days of Thanks. TWENTY-SEVEN.

Today I am thankful for modern medicines and orthodontia! Without it my whole bunch including myself would have some fugly teeth and quite the jacked up grill! Zachary and I spent part of the morning getting his braces adjusted and tweaked in hopes that we can make room for all of his teefers that are cramming their way into his poor little mouth. So yay for pretty straight teeth smiles!

30 days of Thanks. Day TWENTY-SIX.

Today I am immensely thankful for my mom.  We talk nearly everyday.  Everyday I call to ramble on about nonsense or kid things or silly issues or non issues that are going on...we can chat and hang out and shop and always have a wonderful time.  I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for her and the relationship we have together.  She is honest and there for me...for the life I have and will continue to have I am thankful for her always.

30 days of Thanks. Day TWENTY-FIVE.

Today I am thankful for my blonde haired cutie.  My G-babes, my light bulb, our Gavin.  Gavin is so much.  He is thoughtful and sincere.  He is grumpy and happy.  He is funny and silly and smart.  He is 100% perfect for our "little" family.  He is a 1st grade math whizz and loves it.  He proudly announces frequently that he has a "girlfriend named Sarah."  He is fun loving and currently obsessed with all types of toots and turds and faaaahhhts.  He hasn't gone a day without loudly making faaaht sounds with his mouth in months.  We really are all over it, but at the same time it's pretty darn funny.  *don't tell him I said that!*
He came into our lives at a very perfect time and we all couldn't get enough of our little baldy beaner.  His little itty bitty blonde self is filled with more personality than anyone in this house.  I hope one day he realizes how awesome we all know he is.  He is an amazing kid and I am so thankful and thrilled and lucky to call him mine.

30 days of Thanks. Day TWENTY-FOUR.

Today I am thankful for Robert's job.  One that he works hard at and provides enough for us for me to be able to stay home.   We are able to live comfortably, feed our growing herd, and live in a warm house and for all of that I am extremely grateful!
(they just recently moved to a new office...we visited it yesterday!)

30 days of Thanks. Day TWENTY-THREE.

Today I am thankful for the internet.  I didn't really do much online shopping today but the little bit of black friday sales I did were from the warm non crowded safety of my own home.  Score.   Go internet!

(totally not pictures of the internet...or pictures of my house...but from today!)

30 days of Thanks. Day TWENTY

Today I am thankful for beautiful weather and a week off of school.  The boys and I hit up the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and spent the day outside.  We walked around the grounds and decided there really wasn't a lot to see--it appeared to be geared more towards groups and schools.  But did enjoy walking around on the trails and letting the boys explore around it the creek that ran next to the trail.  We did stumble on a super neat tee pee and are now very motivated to figure out how to make one!  Though much smaller would work better...

30 days of Thanks. Day NINETEEN.

Today I am thankful for all the folks who have taken the time to experiment with food and came up with tasty dishes...and then were kind enough to share them! We have had 2 winner meals in a row and that is always great. Yay for tasty dinners and homemade meals!
(I will have to add the recipes another time...my iPad isn't letting me add the links)
We had beef and broccoli with fried rice last night (I even had seconds...I never get seconds!) and sweet and sour chicken tonight. Both recipes we dug up because we were trying to curb Chinese food restaurant cravings...it worked!

Today I am thankful for my Dyson....as goofy as that sounds I love that thing and it has been one of the best purchases we made nearly 8 or so years ago.

30 days of Thanks. Day SEVENTEEN.

Today I am thankful for my Zachario, Zman, Zach Attack.   He is so full of life and energy and happy. He certainly has his moments of frustration and anger but I would rarely use those terms to describe him.  He is our feisty one...busy and mischievous...a boy through and through.   Though despite his business and his "hyper" he has a huge heart and loves to help and do things for others.  He is thoughtful and considerate.    He's a lover and a sensitive guy.
Zachary is the energy the rest of us need, he is always looking for fun or action and creating if it's not there.  He is one amazing boy and I am so thankful he's ours.
