At one he is finally napping longer and still not sleeping better at night. Some days he eats solid food and some days he feeds it all to Maddie. He is sprinting around the house and can climb the stairs like lightning. He is loving cars and his tricycle pushy thing we bought him. Last night he got a cupcake and thought that was grand! At one he is trying diligently to say words...many of which at this point all sound the same, a nice variation of Da's. He shakes his head yes and no...often at questions which is cute as can be. He is still the easiest baby around to take out and about...he chills in his stroller happy as a clam and rides in the car calmly looking out the window. At one he still is a fan of his paci and is loving his swaddle blankets from days of new...though swaddling would not be a fun thing for him. He rips socks off with a swiftness and thinks shoes (eeee'SH) are lovely chew toys. He gets quite angry when I don't let him chew on my cell phone or play with cleaner bottles. He giggles away when Robert plays chase and "hide n seek" with him. He adores his big bros like crazy.
The past year has been a blur of amazing'ness with this much needed baby boy. He certainly came into our lives at a time we weren't expecting but oh my goodness are we crazy about him and so very glad he did. He has added something to our family that we were missing and we are all so in love with every ounce of this baby boy.
Adjusting to a baby again was harder than I expected but more joyous than I remembered. His every giggle and laugh and smile, cry and frown has been cherished and adored. Remembering life without him here is as cliche' as it sounds hard to do. Nolan is so loved and he is one. Watching him grow and learn and change over this past year has been amazing. His personality coming about and shining thru and getting to do that again is wonderful. At one he is happy, spunky, and easy going. Happy 1st Birthday baby boy!
